Use the Faith pillar on floor 1 before the hit starts

Pick Faith at the floor 1 pillar, expect one hit from the second floor, and take the single Temple visit before you descend.

The PC codex text, quoted by capydb for build 2026.10.8.72af32744d5, says a pillar appears in each floor's starting room so you can choose a Faith. Specific mechanics sit on the Faith Mask descriptions in inventory.

The same quote says that from the second floor, each change of Faith causes the player to take damage once. When the Faith Meter is full, a Temple reveals. You may teleport directly or enter from the starting room. Only one Temple visit per floor is permitted.

What capydb adds, and what 1.0 changed

capydb's separate Faith page, updated 2026-10-08 against that build, says the floor 1 switch is free, later floors cost one hit, the hold is 1.6 seconds, and the meter caps at 100. It marks the exact heart cost and whether old Faith progress survives a switch as unconfirmed. Those extras stay labeled as that page's check, not as the quoted codex sentence.

The 1.0 announcement says the Artisanism Faith was reworked to use badges for a new Affix after crafting. That is a system change on top of the pillar rule, and it applies whichever weapon you take.

What you need

You need a floor start room. The safehouse exception and the 100-point cap are capydb's added notes, not the short codex paragraph.

If you get stuck

A full meter that you carry down a floor is the case capydb says empties the meter. The quoted codex limits you to one Temple visit on that floor, so go back to the pillar before the descend portal.
